Naina, a homemaker in Lucknow, has her daughter Swara seemingly missing after a night out she reluctantly gave permission for. Naina panics and goes to the police station to file Swara’s details. Here, she empathises with another set of parents lamenting over their daughter who was killed in sexual assault. Naina then receives a call and rushes home to find Swara back and safe. After expressing initial concern, she shows dissent against Swara’s irresponsible behaviour. As they then prepare for Holika Dahan in the evening, the police arrive with proof to arrest her son Sanskaar, on charges of committing rape. Naina is jolted as she realises that her son whose problematic behaviours she had let pass previously, has ultimately turned out to be a rapist.
Sarangi has graduated with a triple major Bachelor’s degree from Christ College, Bangalore and holds a Master’s degree in Film Direction from Whistling Woods International, Mumbai. Social commentary and the emotional dynamics of humans are the areas she primarily aims to explore through her movies. Sarangi has made 3 Short films, Malayalam-Hindi script translation for a daily soap on Shemaroo and written copy for two Disney Story advertisements.
