SILENT FILM, GRIEF, HEALING
Cahya must face the bitter reality of losing both of his parents at the same time. In his grief, he embarks on a journey of mourning in a funeral home, accompanied by the ghosts of his parents. Along the way, Cahya recalls memories of himself with his parents—from his childhood to the painful moments of growing up. These fragments of memory gradually guide him toward understanding the meaning of loss. Eventually, Cahya slowly finds the strength to accept his grief as he reaches his parents’ funeral room and says a final farewell.
Fritz Widjaja is an artist—that is the only thing he knows how to be. For him, being an artist is not just about drawing or telling stories, but about bringing crazy and new ideas to life, creating pillars of dreams and hope for everyone. In his free time, he enjoys special effects makeup, cosplay, playing music—mainly jazz and pop—and sports. In his film career, he participated in the Cannes Short Film Corner 2010 with the short film The Story as director and writer, was involved in the Teh Gelas commercial (2015), and his short film Timun Mas was officially selected for the Zlin Film Festival, Girona Film Festival, Fan Boy Film Festival, and Hellomotion Film Festival in 2016.
