Solo, May 1998. Riots erupted, shops were burned, lives were at risk, and chaos spread. Amidst the devastation, photojournalist Sunaryo Haryo Bayu kept raising his camera; capturing history while searching for truth and a glimmer of hope within the tragedy.
Eko Fitri Yulyanto, an independent filmmaker from a farming village in Magetan, Indonesia. His first film at film school about the lives of farmers opened his path into the independent scene and the broader film industry. For him, cinema is a space to understand human beings and life.
