Jakarta Film Week 2026 Reopens JFWNET—Industry Program for Indonesia’s Emerging Filmmakers

Jakarta, August 14, 2026 — Jakarta Film Week (JFW) returns with an open call  for JFWNET—Industry Program, featuring the Pitching Forum and Producers Lab for Indonesian filmmakers and emerging industry talents. Entering its sixth year, Jakarta Film Week continues to create opportunities for emerging filmmakers to develop their projects, connect with industry professionals, and discover new pathways within the film industry.

“For us, Jakarta Film Week is not only about celebrating films, but also about creating a space for the people behind them to meet, exchange ideas, and grow together. Through JFWNET—Industry Program, we want to give emerging filmmakers the opportunity to take their projects further and build new connections within the industry,” said Rina Damayanti, Festival Director of Jakarta Film Week.

Bringing Film Projects Closer to the Industry

Jakarta Film Week Pitching Forum provides a platform for filmmakers to present and further develop their film projects alongside industry professionals. Through mentoring and pitching sessions, participants have the opportunity to receive feedback, broaden their perspectives, and establish new professional connections.

This year, the Jakarta Film Week Pitching Forum is open to feature-length fiction film projects at the development or work-in-progress stage. Projects may come from various genres, including animation. Each project team must include an Indonesian director and producer, with both having experience in completing at least one short film.

Meanwhile, Producers Lab serves as a development platform for emerging producers and filmmakers to learn, exchange experiences, and expand their professional networks with industry practitioners. Together, these two programs form part of JFWNET—Industry Program, creating greater opportunities for new talents to connect with the film industry ecosystem and further advance their careers.

Creating Space for New Stories and Emerging Talents

The journey of JFWNET—Industry Program does not end when the program concludes. Its alumni continue to bring their projects and experiences into various spaces across the film industry.

Producers Lab alumni Fadhilla Ristianty and Giovanni Rahmadeva have advanced their professional journeys through international industry programs. Fadhilla participated in the New Producers Room at the Short Film Corner, Marché du Film, Cannes Film Festival, while Giovanni took part in the European Film Market (EFM) Toolbox Programme at the Berlinale.

Another notable achievement comes from Producers Lab alumni Annisa Adjam and Bagus Suitrawan, who served as Co-Producer and Line Producer, respectively, on Vaterland: A Bule Named Yanto. The film premiered at Cannes 2026 and went on to receive the CANAL+ Award at La Semaine de la Critique.

Projects developed through the pitching platform have also gone on to find opportunities across the industry. PINGPONG, which received the HKIFF Industry Award at the Pitching Forum x MTN Presentation during Jakarta Film Week 2025, was selected for the HKIFF Industry Project Market 2026.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Nobody Loves Kay, the debut feature film by Bernardus Raka, who participated in the Jakarta Film Week 2025 Pitching Forum WIP, has also been released theatrically.

The achievements of JFWNET alumni and the journeys of their projects reflect the program’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the networks, capacities, and access of Indonesian filmmakers across the broader film industry ecosystem.

Open Call: JFWNET—Industry Program

Jakarta Film Week 2026 invites Indonesian filmmakers with narrative film projects who are looking for opportunities to further develop their work to participate in JFWNET—Industry Program.

Applications for the Jakarta Film Week Pitching Forum are open from August 11–23, 2026, while applications for Producers Lab are open from August 14–28, 2026.
