Jakarta Film Week 2025 Participates in ACFM BIFF and Announces Festival Ambassador

Jakarta, September 23, 2025 – Jakarta Film Week was among the festivals participating in the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), specifically at the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) held from September 20–23, 2025. Its presence marks both an official participation in ACFM and a collaboration with Platform Busan 2025.

Through its JFWNET – Industry Program, a parallel initiative featuring labs, discussions, and pitching forums that explore the development of both national and international film industries, Jakarta Film Week sent three emerging producers from the Producers Lab 2024 to join Platform Busan 2025. They are Andreas B. Sihombing with Push Rank, Bella Nabila with To My Dearest, My Dear…, and Wildan Aji Gumelar with Resepsi Pertama Bapak. Their participation provides an opportunity to connect and share experiences with fellow filmmakers, while also opening doors for potential collaborations through the pitching sessions.

Additionally, Yulia Evina Bhara, producer and member of the Jakarta Film Week 2025 Festival Board, was selected as one of the main competition jurors at BIFF 2025. Earlier this year, she also served as a juror for the Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. Moreover, her latest production with Malaysian director Woo Ming Jin, titled The Fox King (2025), held its Asian Premiere in the A Window on Asian Cinema program. Yulia also co-produced Renoir (2025), a Japan–France–Singapore–Philippines–Indonesia co-production that had its Korean Premiere in the same BIFF program after competing at the Cannes Film Festival 2025.

Jakarta Film Week also hosted a booth at ACFM 2025, presenting this year’s festival programs, facilitating meetings with industry professionals, and exploring new collaboration opportunities.

On this occasion, Jakarta Film Week proudly announced its Festival Ambassador, Claresta Taufan. Claresta also attended BIFF as the lead actress in Pangku (2025), the directorial debut of Reza Rahadian, which premiered in BIFF’s Vision Asia program. She received the Rising Star Award at the Marie Claire Asia Star Award, an event held as part of BIFF 2025.

Entering its fifth edition, Jakarta Film Week continues to deliver a range of key programs designed to bridge filmmakers with industry stakeholders. The festival opens opportunities for collaboration and creates spaces for discussion on current issues within the film ecosystem. Beyond being a celebration of outstanding works from Indonesia and around the world, Jakarta Film Week serves as an essential platform for nurturing a new generation of filmmakers, ensuring the continued growth of Indonesian cinema and its relevance in the evolving landscape of global storytelling.

Jakarta Film Week 2025 will take place from October 22–26, 2025, featuring an exciting lineup — including feature and short film screenings, talks, masterclasses, business forums, pitching sessions, and festival meetings. These programs are crafted not only as spaces of appreciation but also as reflections of the social dynamics and challenges expressed through the power of cinema.
