Rudi, a freelance graphic designer, is too absorbed in his career and dies suddenly from exhaustion. When his spirit is reaped by Death, Rudi refuses to sign the documents that consent his departure from this world. He still feels needed in the world, but Maut shows how quickly he’s replaced at his job, leaving him stunned. Instead of choosing a luxurious destination, Rudi opts for a more modest trip—Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. There, he tries to enjoy the life he has been neglecting. However, when time is running out, Rudi decides to go to his father’s house—a place full of regrets and wounds—and face the feelings he has been avoiding.
Nara Nugroho graduated from Digital Film & Television at Limkokwing University of Technology, Malaysia, before building a career spanning over a decade in the Indonesian creative industry. He has worked at renowned production houses such as Lifelike Pictures, Miles Films, and currently at Palari Films with a focus on scriptwriting. Nara co-wrote The Sea Calls For Me (2021), which won the Sonje Award at the Busan International Film Festival, Best Short Narrative at the Dumbo Film Festival, and Best Short Film at the Indonesian Film Festival. Now, he focuses on directing. His feature-length documentary debut, Orkes Semesta (2022), released on Vision+, and he was selected for Indonesiana Film Incubation 2022 as a director and screenwriter for his fiction project Sugih.
