Koki, a gardener in Guatemala City, hides a secret: he is a vampire. By day he lives with his wife and young son; by night he feeds in the shadows. Both parents shield the boy from the curse until his hunger awakens, sealing a tragic inheritance.
Sebastián Lojo is a Guatemalan director and cinematographer. His debut feature Los Fantasmas was the first Guatemalan film selected for the Bright Future Competition at IFFR 2020. His work has screened at Toronto, the Venice Biennale and Berlin Critics' Week. Madrugada was selected for Cannes' Quinzaine des Cinéastes 2026.
