FAMILY TIME: FROM ME, TO FUTURE
FAMILY TIME: FROM ME, TO FUTURE

In this critical year marked by various social issues, Jakarta Film Week aims to engage children in becoming more aware and critical of the issues happening around them, while nurturing their potential to become active social agents who respond to these challenges and imagine a better future for all. After the film screening and discussion, participants are encouraged to reflect on how social and political conditions in their surroundings affect their own lives. They are also expected to recognize how micro-level issues close to them are deeply connected to broader social problems.

Jakarta Film Week collaborates with the Indonesia Writing Edu Center (IWEC), an academy focused on literacy for children and young adults, to introduce the power of writing, voice, and opinion. Through this collaboration, children are encouraged to reflect inwardly and think critically about how social issues impact themselves and their communities. The discussion and activities are designed as a space for both children and parents to learn and play, cultivating critical thinking, empathy, problem-solving, and linguistic skills.
