Today, films are easily accessible both online and offline. Since the pandemic, the distribution of films and audiovisual content on the internet has grown rapidly. People of all ages can now watch and enjoy films anytime and anywhere. However, this convenience also comes with risks—one of which is the lack of filters or restrictions on age-inappropriate content, especially for children and teenagers.

To prevent underage audiences from accessing unsuitable content, the Film Censorship Board (Lembaga Sensor Film/LSF) enforces an age classification system for films and film advertisements in accordance with Law No. 33 of 2009. Often, Indonesian filmmakers adjust their storytelling and production approaches to meet the intended age classification, ensuring that their films can be screened without censorship.

Through this discussion, Jakarta Film Week invites filmmakers, film communities, practitioners, and the public to explore: To what extent do film censorship and age classification influence the creative process and the final work itself?
