The film, nominated for the Direction Award, is an adaptation of the novel by Puthut EA, featuring young stars like Refal Hady, Nadya Arina, Mira Filzah, and Carisa Perusset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hanung revealed that this project had been in the works for quite some time, with a production period spanning nearly a year. For him, this film holds a personal connection, as it is based on a book that resonates deeply with him. He allowed each actor the freedom to explore and interpret their roles individually.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI invited the actors to reflect on themselves, as this film acts as a mirror for us in confronting commitment and responsibility\u2014two things that reveal us as we truly are,\u201d Hanung explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Refal Hady, who plays the lead role of Daku Ramala, acknowledged the challenges of understanding his character, a writer dealing with complex inner struggles. \u201cI explored Daku\u2019s character by reflecting on him through my own life experiences,\u201d Refal shared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Haki, the film\u2019s screenwriter, adapting the novel to a script was a delicate process. However, Hanung\u2019s openness to discussions made it more collaborative. Haki admitted that this was the third film that had brought him to tears during the writing process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hanung preserved the novel\u2019s core theme of life\u2019s rhythm, symbolized through breathing. However, he introduced an open ending, allowing viewers to interpret whether Daku would pursue his newfound love or not.
