Various exciting and innovative activities are set to be held at key locations in Jakarta, such as <\/span><b>CGV Grand Indonesia, Taman Ismail Marzuki, and Mercure Jakarta Cikini.<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Support from the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Agency in Strengthening the Film Industry<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Head of the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, <\/span><b>Andhika Permata<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, emphasized the Jakarta government&#8217;s commitment to maintaining the film ecosystem and supporting the film industry, especially amid Jakarta&#8217;s charm as a global city. &#8220;Jakarta, which radiates its charm as a hub of activity and the growth of millions of residents, especially in the creative economy sector, continues progressing towards becoming global. The Jakarta Film Week 2024 event, which has become a tradition, is one of the real manifestations of Jakarta&#8217;s beauty through the creative industry. Therefore, we hope this festival will serve as a delightful entertainment for film industry enthusiasts, especially the people of Jakarta,&#8221; he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Jakarta Film Week 2024 Theme: Resonance<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year, Jakarta Film Week carries the theme \u201cResonance\u201d, which illustrates how the development of cinema has the power to create a broad impact. Rina Damayanti, Festival Director of Jakarta Film Week said, \u201cSince 2021, Jakarta Film Week has continued to grow. The number of films submitted has increased from year to year, and the enthusiasm from stakeholders in the film industry also continues to rise. This is also in line with the development of the film industry in Indonesia. Domestically, by 2022 and 2023, over a dozen Indonesian films managed to attract more than one million viewers annually, triggering the expansion of cinema screens and increased investment. Internationally, Indonesian films have received funding and featured at prestigious festivals, showcasing how the film ecosystem continues to connect and grow.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Film Screenings and Awards Program<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since its inception in 2021, Jakarta Film Week has shown significant growth. The number of film submissions has increased every year, reflecting the growing enthusiasm of filmmakers from around the world. This year, <\/span><b>1,132 films from 85 countries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were submitted, with <\/span><b>140 films from 50 countries selected<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This highlights the great interest and expectations surrounding the festival, which play a crucial role in strengthening the film ecosystem both in Indonesia and globally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The selected films can be watched offline at CGV Grand Indonesia and Taman Ismail Marzuki. Meanwhile, the <\/span><b>closing film<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of this year&#8217;s festival comes from Vietnam, titled <\/span><b><i>Don&#8217;t Cry, Butterfly<\/i><\/b><b>, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">directed by Duong Dieu Linh, which will add to the excitement of Jakarta Film Week 2024. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don&#8217;t Cry, Butterfly<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> won two awards at the 2024 Venice Film Festival after premiering at the prestigious Venice Critics Week. The film received the top award for Best Film and the award for Most Innovative Film.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adriyanto Dewo, the director of <\/span><b><i>Sampai Jumpa, Selamat Tinggal<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, was also present and shared his thoughts: &#8220;I hope this fresh-from-the-oven film will be well-received by everyone at Jakarta Film Week,&#8221; he said without revealing any details about the film. This year, three selected film projects received funding of 50 million rupiah and <\/span><b>Production Movielab<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> facilities, ranging from directing assistance, script writing, to the editing process. These films will be screened for the first time at <\/span><b>Jakarta Film Week 2024<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
