Jakarta Film Week 2024 has become a significant event for the Indonesian film industry. Every year, the festival not only showcases a wide range of quality films but also creates a space for collaboration between local and international filmmakers. Now in its fourth year, Jakarta Film Week 2024 was officially launched in a festive manner at CGV Grand Indonesia, Jakarta.<\/span><\/p>\n

The grand opening kicked off with a red carpet event attended by filmmakers from around the world, including Jakarta Film Week 2024 Festival Ambassador Kristo Immanuel, <\/span>Exhuma<\/span><\/i> Producer Kim Young Min, <\/span>In The Belly of a Tiger<\/span><\/i> Director Siddartha Jatla, and the cast and crew of <\/span>Sampai Jumpa Selamat Tinggal<\/span><\/i>, the opening film of Jakarta Film Week 2024. Attendees from the film included Ricky Wijaya, Adriyanto Dewo, Sherly Kosasih, Perlita Desiani, Lukman Sardi, Jourdy Pranata, Lutesha, Jerome Kurnia, and Kiki Narendra.<\/span><\/p>\n

The opening ceremony continued with remarks from Nuzul Kristanto, Head of the Film Appreciation and Literacy Team at the Directorate of Film, Music, and Media (PMM) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), which supports Jakarta Film Week 2024. This support is based on PMM Kemendikbudristek\u2019s belief that the festival can serve as a creative platform for young filmmakers to thrive on an international level.<\/span><\/p>\n

This optimism was evident in the growing collaborations fostered at Jakarta Film Week. This point was further emphasized during the opening speech by Rina Damayanti, Festival Director of Jakarta Film Week 2024. \u201cCollaboration is a crucial issue in the film industry. Therefore, this year, we are launching the JFW NET Industry Program, specifically designed to support collaboration among filmmakers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program includes various activities such as masterclasses, pitching forums, business forums, talks, festival meetings, producers labs, and networking events. All of these are designed to provide a platform for exploring new opportunities and expanding networks for local filmmakers to develop their work and compete globally.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Festival Ambassador Kristo Immanuel also shared his enthusiasm, stating, \u201cThis festival is not only about showcasing various cinematic works, but it also serves as a venue for meeting and gathering different voices and perspectives to advance the film industry.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

With the theme ‘Resonance’, Jakarta Film Week 2024 is set to become a hub, a meeting point for film industry players from all over the world, bringing positive impact to the growth of the film industry, akin to a strong resonance. When various elements of the film industry come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate in a synergistic environment, it creates a sustainable resonance that strengthens one another.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through various initiatives and innovations presented by Jakarta Film Week, it is hoped that this festival will be a positive step in promoting the development of Indonesian films and creating significant opportunities for these films to be recognized and compete on the international stage. The goal is for this effort to strengthen the position of Indonesian filmmakers in the global market and elevate the quality and competitiveness of the national film industry.<\/span><\/p>\n
