offline festival activities will be held at CGV, Cinema XXI, and Hotel Ashley, while exclusive online
film screenings will only be shown on Vidio.com. Tickets can be accessed starting 10 November

The presence of the Jakarta Film Week is expected to open up new opportunities for film works.
It is also expected to contribute to strengthening the economy after the pandemic. Therefore,
The Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office also provides support for this
global-scale festival.
“The Jakarta Film Week can serve as a medium for appreciation and education that will make a
major contribution to the development of the film industry. This is the time for the capital to
have a continuous film appreciation and education event,” said Andika Permata, Head of the
Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office.
The Jakarta Film Week also has a festival ambassador, namely Shenina Cinnamon, who
encourages film audiences, especially the younger generation, to know more about a film
festival.

“As a festival ambassador, I want to invite everyone, especially the younger generation, to know
more about what a film festival is. How it works and what it has to offer. It is a possibility for the
general public to be interested and participate in the film industry after attending. As for actors
and filmmakers, this is an opportunity to bring films together with their audiences,” said
Shenina.

The Jakarta Film Week Programs
The kick-off of the Jakarta Film Week will be marked by the world premiere of Ranah 3 Warna,
an Indonesian film produced by MNC Pictures, directed by Guntur Soeharjanto. Meanwhile,
Whether The Weather is Fine by a Filipino director Carlo Francisco Manatad will be the closing
film. Previously, this film produced by Globe Studios premiered at the 74th Locarno Film Festival
and competed in The Script Development Fund, Asian Cinema Fund of the Busan International
Film Festival 2014.
Other film programs of the festival include the Global Feature that contains the screenings of
feature films, and the Global Short that contains screenings of short films from Indonesia, the

Hong Kong, and South Korea. The selected feature films and short films will compete to win the
Global Feature Award and the Global Short Award. There is also the Direction Award, a special
competition for Indonesian films that are screened during the festival. In addition, industry
players also have the opportunity to exhibit their works in the exhibition and showcase rooms
located in the main location of the festival.

Another program that focuses on funding is the Jakarta Film Fund. The Jakarta Film Week

mentoring from professional filmmakers, movielab directing, script writing and visual editing. All
finished films will be screened during the festival.
Other programs held during the Jakarta Film Week include Masterclasses for professional film
workers, Talks to discuss current issues in the film industry, and also Community as a forum for
exchanging experiences and strengthening networks.

Week serves as a hub for filmmakers and films from different countries to foster and develop
creative industry networks in order to build togetherness in adapting to new developments in
the post-pandemic film world,” said Rina.
The Jakarta Film Week is expected to be a forum for Indonesian film industry players, especially
in Jakarta, to develop both in terms of discourse, skills and network. In addition, it can be a
trigger for the film industry in other regions to grow so that the quality of the film industry in
Indonesia improves as a whole. All programs and information related to the Jakarta Film Week
