Director PARK first dreamt of becoming a director after watching Chungking Express, directed by Wong Kar-wai, in middle school. Fascinated by Japanese and 80’s Hollywood films in high school, he went to the theaters and cinematheques daily. Majoring in film directing at 24, he fell into the black comedy genre, and most of his short films at the time were black comedies. After graduation, he worked as an assistant director in the Korean film industry, where he met director JUNG Bum-shik and participated in various films before eventually co-writing the horror film GONJIAM: Haunted Asylum with director JUNG. Thanks to GONJIAM: Haunted Asylum, he received many offers to debut with a horror film. However, as for the debut film, PARK Sang-min wanted to make a comedy film, which has been his interest ever since he was young, and that manifested in his first feature film, I HAVEN’T DONE ANYTHING.
