Zoel Aeschbacher
Born in 1993 in Paris (France), he is of Swiss and Vietnamese origin. Marked by the short films of the Kourtrajmé collective, he started experimenting with a DV camera. In 2017, he finished a bachelor's degree in cinema at the ECAL (Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne). His graduation film, BONOBO (2017), was presented in international competition at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival and received the Audience Award. BONOBO won the Student Academy for the best student film in 2019. He directed FAIRPLAY in 2022 and is currently working on his first feature film UNDERDOG
