Haris Yuliyanto, a Communication Science graduate from Dian Nuswantoro University, works at his alma mater while actively participating in local film activities. His childhood familiarity with seafaring environments caught his interest in making maritime and coastal environmental issues the foundation of his storytelling in his works. His short films have received recognition, nationally and internationally, such as competing at the 67th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and being shortlisted for the Best Short Film nomination at the 2021 Indonesia Film Festival. His latest short, Memories of the Sea, had its world premiere at the Jogja NETPAC Asian Film Festival 2021.
