Governor Anies’s Hope After Jakarta Hosted Jakarta Film Week, an International-Scale Film Festival
Jakarta, 19 November 2021. Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and his wife, Fery Farhati, visited CGV Grand Indonesia to attend the opening night of the Jakarta Film Week, an international-scale film festival held by the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office.
Together with Rina Damayanti as Festival Director and Shenina Cinnamon as Festival Ambassador, Governor Anies enthusiastically delivered his remarks. He believed that the collaborative efforts put into the festival would have a positive impact on the Indonesian film industry.
“The collaboration between the Jakarta Government and partners who have the experience, knowledge, and networks that can contribute to the betterment of Jakarta, as city development is all about building culture, which cannot be portrayed through photos alone. This is where films come in,” said Anies Baswedan in his remarks before the screening of the Jakarta Film Week opening film.
On the same occasion, Governor Anies also expressed his hope. He wished that the hosting of Jakarta Film Week would encourage the growth and development of film activities in Jakarta.
“Films are a spectacle and guidance that can be a medium for us to explore new perspectives. We have a great interest in facilitating Indonesian films to be hosted in their own country and to enchant other countries as guests,” continued Anies Baswedan.
In addition to opening the Jakarta Film Week, Anies Baswedan also watched Ranah 3 Warna, the opening film for the Jakarta Film Week 2021.
